Competitions

Paint a picture with sound.

Five entries will be picked by an Audio Drama Hub panel and will be showcased at the Audio Drama Hubfest on 1st November… where those present will choose their favourite to receive a small prize.

Entries must:

… be 60 - 90 seconds long

… be an MP3 (labelled just with title, NOT your name, to keep anonymity) 

... use sounds, music and or breaths to tell the story. 

... This year, as we're focusing on voice acting, you may use up to 10 unique words (which may be repeated) in a sentence, sentences or used abstractly. 

...only contain Creative Commons 0 fx and music, or your own foley/music. It's a celebration of human creativity, so please no AI.  

... be as experimental as you like and have lots of fun! 

(Please be aware that this will be played over speakers in the hall, so please do check that there’s no clipping distortion in your original sound)

It doesn't have to be a linear story within a physical space. It doesn't have to be realistic - it can be abstract, a montage of sounds that evoke a memory/feeling/person/place for example, or that just sound interesting together. Giving you total freedom of artistic expression -there's more than enough realism out there, so we really welcome stuff more like Musique concrète too. Have fun, and it is open to anyone just wanting to create - so you can tailor it to your own skills/interests

By entering, you give permission for the Audio Drama Hub to play your piece at the Audio Drama Hubfest 2025 and to include it in a future episode of a podcast from Audio Drama Hub, Quirky Voices or Indie AF. You retain ownership and of course, you can withdraw your entry and/or permission at any time by getting in touch at the above address. If any entries are considered unsuitable, the decision of the Audio Drama Hub admin team will be final.
